#1 Defining News

Introduction

News as defined in the dictionary means

A report of recent events of something unknown.

 Brief

In simple terms, the news is the passing of information. My personal definition for news would be gossip, whispers, chatter, and many other things. These words are about spreading information known as the News.

It is to be believed that the existence of the news began in the 1600’s from my source Schools.first news.co.uk, but that is not completely true. It is also said that news is often never at its final stage as there may be some latest information that is added. The start of broadcasted news such as newspapers or such were beginning during that time, but the REAL news has been around since humans were alive. We all are the news in our own way because we are vocal about our opinions or concerns on certain topics or subjects and aren’t afraid if others disagree. That’s the News!

As told above, “We are the News. It is quite crazy how every little thing we do from brushing our teeth in the morning to putting on pajamas in bed is considered news because it's a collection of events that happened that frame a story.

Medias

The news also has various media outlets (outlets that spread the news). The different outlets consist of broadcasting, word-of-mouth, radio, and now slowly diminishing print. Printing was the first media accomplishment of spreading the news locally, worldwide, and nationally. Before the web was a thing in 1993, all we had was print, and before that many would write in pen and ink and deliver their message by hand or postal service.

Evolved Today

Newspaper prints are becoming outdated for our millennium’s and our generation z age groups, but our Baby-Boomers are holding on. The reasoning for this is because technology is steadily growing and supplying more job opportunities for those in the fields of social media and even writing. Another thing to add is that those born between 1946-1964 cannot keep up with all these new technological advances and end up sticking to what they know- that good ole Newspaper.

Lastly, the decline in newspaper sales and production is that newspapers are no longer 25 cents, but from $1.00-$1.99 and a digital subscription $3.00-$4.00. Why would you pay for something that is free amongst many social media platforms like messy Facebook, or even controversial Twitter?

Examples: Samsung Tv Plus and Roku Channel have free News channels provided by their television manufacturer where they can get their daily drama for the day.

Conclusion

News will forever be a concept that everyone owns, hears, sees, or is intertwined in it. The news has many forms like fake news, real news, government news, fashion news, and even entertainment news. The common similarity with these examples is that they all allow for the spread of information across the media.
